Abstract
The Parties shall cooperate within the UN framework and within international and regional organizations for the solution of global ecological problems (art. 6). The Parties shall cooperate for the mitigation of consequences of ecological emergencies and environmental disasters (art. 10).

The Agreement entered into force on 24 December 1997.
Notes
This Agreement shall be valid for ten years and it will be automatically extended for a five-year period unless one of the Parties informs the other, in writing, of its decision to terminate it six months before the expiry date.
