Decree No. 1446 of the Council of Ministers on some issues related to the competence of the Ministry of Public Health.

This Decree establishes that the Ministry of Public Health shall be national state governing body subordinated to the Council of Ministers. The Ministry shall perform the following tasks: (a) implementation of state policy in the field of protection of public health; (b) organization of sanitary and epidemiological well-being of the population and compliance with sanitary, epidemiological and hygienic rules and regulation; and (c) scientific research in the field of medical science. The Ministry establishes nutritional values for public organizations, rates of special dietary uses for patients of healthcare institutions and students of educational institutions.
