Decree No. 7 of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Protection on declaration, reorganization and cessation of the functioning of protected areas.

This Decree establishes the modalities of preparation, coordination and submittal to the President and Government of the written statements on declaration, reorganization and cessation of the functioning of protected areas, national parks, nature reserves and validates the list of documents and materials that are integral part of such written statements. For the purpose of declaration and reorganization of protected areas the following documents must be submitted to the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Protection: (a) the list and the definition of unique, reference territory or other precious biosphere reserves requiring special protection and general description of their state; (b) substantiation of the declaration or reorganization of protected areas, national parks and nature reserves; (c) projected boundaries of the protected areas. For the purpose of cessation of functioning of protected areas the following documents must be submitted to the Government for examination: (a) substantiation containing the conclusions of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Protection certifying the destruction or loss of nature reserves by the protected area; (b) boundaries of the protected area that shall cease to function as such.
