Decree No. 81 of the Ministry of Healthcare validating the Regulation on the rules and methods of disposal of waste of medicinal products and medical equipment.

This Decree establishes the procedure for disposal and treatment of waste of medicinal products and medical equipment, including medical products containing radioactive elements; medical products containing mercury; medicines in aerosol packaging; medicines containing living, including weakened, germ cultures; medicines included in the list of medicines in list A, registered by the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Belarus, which is approved annually by the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Belarus; narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances included in the national list of narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances and precursors approved by the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Belarus; antibiotics and similar antimicrobial agents; and antiseptics and disinfectants. Medical products should be placed separately in groups, packaged in containers or other canisters or repositories (strong cardboard boxes, boxes, barrels) and clearly marks (be customized according to their contents). Until the completion of the destruction of the medical product it should be stored in a dry, safe place, separate from products that are not subject to destruction. Work on the classification and grouping of drugs should be performed under the direct supervision of a person with a pharmaceutical or medical education. The owner waste generated from the destruction of medical products, handles them in accordance with the environmental, regulatory (epidemiological, fire and other) legislation of the Republic of Belarus.
