Abstract
For the purpose of the prophylaxis of the diseases related to iodine deficiency the Chief Sanitary Inspector decrees that the Ministry of Trade and the Belarusian Cooperative Union must provide for the continuity of supply of the iodinated salt to the trading enterprises and public catering. The Ministry of Trade, the Belarusian Cooperative Union, the Ministry of Public Health must take appropriate measures for the ensuring of the utilization of white salt enriched with iodine for the nutrition of educational, recreational, sanitary institutions, vocational, technical secondary schools, universities, medical treatment and prophylaxis institutions, sanatorium-preventoriums for younger children and adolescents and public catering enterprises irrespectively of the form of property. The Ministry of Agriculture must examine the possibility of the utilization of the iodinated salt for the manufacturing of foodstuffs for the special dietary uses, infant food, for baking of bread, meat products and canned food. The joint-stock company « MOZYRSALT » must modify the standards for the salt production by increasing the contents of potassium iodate in conformity with the recommendations of WHO up to 40, 0 + 10, 0 micrograms/gram.
