Law No. 176-Z on natural gas supply.

The scope of this Law shall be to regulate relations in the sphere of natural gas supply and to ensure efficient, reliable and safe functioning of natural gas supply system. The Act consists of eight Sections divided into 34 articles: (1) general provisions; (2) the state regulation and management in the sphere of natural gas supply; (3) legal basis and economic relations; (4) organizational matters; (5) land tenancy related to construction and management of natural gas supply system; (6) safety arrangements; (7) liability and dispute settlement; and (8) conclusive provisions. The state regulation in the sphere of natural gas supply shall include the establishment of requirements for industrial, fire and ecological safety in the process of transport, storage, supply, distribution and consumption of natural gas, and also supervision over the observation thereof. Technical regulation, standardization and certification shall be applicable to natural gas supply with a view of ensuring environmental protection. The state supervision shall include environmental monitoring and environmental audit of the projected construction, running, putting out of operation, conservation and liquidation of natural gas supply systems for the purpose of ensuring environmental protection.
