Abstract
This Law regulates relations regarding norm-setting and application of technical requirements to produce, manufacturing, transport, storage and use thereof, and ensures carrying out common state policy in the aforesaid sphere. The purpose of the Law shall be to ensure the application of technical norms and standards to the produce in order to render it safe for human life and environment, and also to make it comply with environmental standards. The Act consists of five Sections divided into 31 articles: (1) general provisions; (2) state regulation of technical norm-setting and standardization; (3) requirements for the application of technical norms and standards; (4) international cooperation; and (5) conclusive provisions. The scope of standardization shall be to ensure: (a) safety of human life and health; (b) environmental protection, rational management of natural resources and energy saving; and (c) prevention of the circulation of misleading information as regards quality and safety of produce.

Entry into force notes
The Law enters into force six months after the date of its official publication except for Article 30 which enters into force on the date of the official publication of the Law.
