Abstract
The purpose of this Memorandum of Understanding is the development of cooperation related to the exchange of technical information and training in the field of safety of nuclear installations and materials in order to achieve high level of competence and independence of the state regulatory body. In accordance with the legislation of the Republic of Belarus and the Slovak Republic, the Parties shall develop cooperation in the following areas: (a) exchange of information related to the legislative basis of the regulatory activities; (b) new directions in the management of regulatory activities; (c) development of regulatory documents and guidelines; (d) exchange of experience in the development and implementation of nuclear inspection programs related to installations; (e) exchange of experience of regulatory supervision in the field of nuclear materials, radioactive waste and spent fuel, including their transportation; (f) exchange of experience of regulatory supervision in the field of control, accounting and physical protection of nuclear materials and radioactive waste; (g) exchange of experience in regulatory supervision regarding acceptance and equipment assembly for nuclear installations; (h) exchange of experience in assessing the safety of nuclear installations at all stages of their life cycle; (i) exchange of experience in the regulatory evaluation of plans and measures to improve safety of nuclear installations; (j) exchange of information and best practices in the field of emergency preparedness and response, as well as measures taken by the regulatory body in the event of an emergency situation in the nuclear installation.

Entry into force notes
This Memorandum of Understanding enters into force on the first day of the second month after the date of receipt by the Parties through diplomatic channels of the last written notification that the relevant legal procedures, required for its entry into force, have been completed.
Notes
This Memorandum of Understanding is valid for five (5) years and upon expiration of this period shall be automatically extended for subsequent five-year periods. The effect of this Memorandum of Understanding may be terminated at the initiative of one of the Parties by written notification not later than six months before the expiry of the next period.
