Multilateral agreement on cross-border cooperation in the exploration, management and protection of subsoil.

This Agreement regulates cross-border cooperation regarding land that contains transboundary geological structures and groundwater deposits that may affect the interests of the Parties. Mineral deposits regulated by the present agreement shall be classified as: (a) hydrocarbons; (b) solid minerals; (c) groundwater; and (d) common minerals used by the local population for its own needs. This Agreement applies to the following activities: (a) research and monitoring; (b) exploration; (c) mining; and (d) environmental audits. The Parties commit to informing each other regarding any geological or mining activity on their territory.
