Presidential Decree No. 259 amending Presidential Decree No. 57 validating the Regulation on the procedure for the movement by natural persons across the customs border of the Republic of Belarus of goods not intended for production or other commercial activities.

This Presidential Decree establishes that shall be prohibited for movement across the customs territory of the Republic of Belarus without the appropriate permit envisaged by acting legislation by natural persons of the following items: (a) poisonous, radioactive and explosive substances; and (b) specimens of species of wild fauna and flora subject to the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora of March 3, 1973. Subject to customs duties and taxes shall be the following items imported by natural persons: alcoholic beverages in quantities over 1 to 10 liters - according to a single rate of 20 euros per 1 liter. Movement of foodstuffs by natural persons from the member states of the Commonwealth of Independent States shall be authorized in the following quantities: (a) from June 1 to October 31, with a total weight of up to 30 kilograms inclusive for one person; (b) from November 1 to May 31, with a total weight of up to 5 kilograms inclusive for one person; and (c) from July 1 to December 31, with a total weight of up to 300 kilograms inclusive, owned and grown (produced) by residents on personal household plots of neighboring states - members of the Commonwealth of Independent States, subject to documentary confirmation of the right of ownership of these persons or members of their families to such plots.
