Program to combat crime and corruption for the period of 2020-2022.

Program to combat crime and corruption for the period of 2020-2022 is a nationwide multi-sectoral policy document aimed at the further implementation of comprehensive and timely measures to counteract crime and corruption in the Republic of Belarus based on planning and coordination of law enforcement agencies, social associations and other organizations.
The goal of the Program shall be to reduce the level and positive change of the structure of crime in the Republic of Belarus through implementation of a set of measures to improve anti-corruption activities in accordance with the Annex.
The Program is aimed at solving the following main tasks: (a) monitoring and forecasting the condition and structure of crime and corruption in order to prevent negative changes that threaten national security, peace and security, and human rights and freedoms, property, the rights of legal entities, natural environment, public and state interests, the constitutional order of the Republic of Belarus, as well as to the established legal order; (b) to ensure the efficient functioning and continued improvement of the rule of law in the Republic of Belarus; (c) improvement of the system of prevention of offences by means of the efficient functioning and further improvement of the prevention of crime by means of state and public structures; (d) increasing the effectiveness of anti-criminal policies, the level of economic and public security, including by optimizing the legal and organizational conditions of law enforcement bodies; (e) introduction of innovations and best practices in the field of counteracting illegal conduct, manifestations of corruption and extremism; (f) increasing the level of legal consciousness and legal culture of the population, trust in law enforcement and government, including trust in the police; (g) ensuring high level of legality and the rule of law in the country; and (h) minimization of social damage from criminal activity, including death of citizens from criminal offences.
