Abstract
These Veterinary and Sanitary Rules establish mandatory compliance by legal entities and individuals, including individual entrepreneurs with the requirements for the safety of work related to the maintenance, cultivation, breeding, movement, trade, slaughter of animals, disposal, burial, destruction of animal carcasses, products of animal origin, production, procurement, storage, processing and movement of animal products aimed at the prevention, diagnosis and elimination of sheep and goat pox. In order to prevent the introduction and spread of the smallpox pathogen into the national territory, animal owners take the following preventive measures: (a) live susceptible animals, their genetic material, fresh meat, meat products and other processed products obtained from them are imported into the national territory in accordance with the Uniform Veterinary (Veterinary and Sanitary) Requirements; (b) live susceptible animals imported into the national territory, regardless of age and purpose of use, shall be kept in isolation for at least 21 days; (c) permanent control is assigned to herds of susceptible animals, as well as pasture areas, watering places and the paths of their passage; (d) the state veterinary service at the location of susceptible animals shall be notified immediately if smallpox is suspected; (e) measures shall be taken to isolate susceptible animals; and (f) corpses of dead susceptible animals shall be isolated and left in the room where they were. The Chief State Veterinary Inspector or his deputies have the right to make a decision on the vaccination of susceptible animals at certain sites and in the territory of the risky zones.
