Abstract
These Veterinary and Sanitary Rules establish mandatory requirements for compliance by legal entities and individuals, including individual entrepreneurs, regarding the safety of work and services related to the maintenance, cultivation, breeding, movement, trade, slaughter of animals, disposal, burial, destruction of animal carcasses, products of animal origin, procurement, storage, processing and movement of products of animal origin, aimed at the prevention, diagnosis and elimination of trichinellosis in animals. Prevention of trichinellosis is carried out on a planned basis and includes the following measures: (a) diagnostic testing for the presence of Trichinella larvae in organizations engaged in the slaughter of animals, production, processing of products of animal origin, and in markets when performing veterinary and sanitary examination of products of animal origin or through research (testing) in veterinary laboratories; and (b) identification and registration of animals sick with trichinosis, establishment and elimination of sources of invasion. The meat of wild boars and other omnivorous and carnivorous animals that are hunted may only be consumed after laboratory testing for the presence of Trichinella larvae. The destruction of confiscated meat, meat products, and offal infected with trichinella larvae is carried out by local representatives.
