Resolution No. 9 of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food validating Veterinary and Sanitary Rules for the prevention and elimination of Newcastle disease in birds.

These Veterinary and Sanitary Rules establish mandatory requirements for compliance by legal entities and individuals, including individual entrepreneurs, for the safety of work and services related to the maintenance, breeding, movement, trade, slaughter of animals, disposal, burial, destruction of animal carcasses, products of animal origin, production, procurement, storage, processing and movement of products of animal origin, aimed at the prevention and elimination of Newcastle disease in birds. In order to prevent the introduction of the Newcastle disease agent into the territory of the national territory with imported live poultry and poultry products, the following preventive measures are taken: (a) hatching eggs, day-old young birds, adult birds, poultry semen, fresh meat, meat products and other processed products obtained from poultry are brought to the facilities in accordance with the Uniform veterinary (veterinary and sanitary) requirements for goods subject to veterinary control (supervision); (b) live poultry imported into the Republic of Belarus, regardless of age and purpose of use, are kept in isolation for at least 21 days; (c) hatching eggs imported into the Republic of Belarus are subject to disinfection using the aerosol method. Fumigation must be carried out in a room specially designed or allocated for this purpose, built using air-tight materials. The presence of a fan ensuring circulation of the gas mixture during the fumigation procedure and its removal upon completion of disinfection is mandatory. Containers for transporting poultry, eggs and meat are marked with the facility's stencil. Returnable containers arriving at the facility are subject to delivery to the production area after mechanical cleaning, washing and disinfection.
