Abstract
Increasing the use of local raw materials and fuel resources and gradually replacing imported raw materials is an important task. It should be noted that the implementation of this task is complicated by the fact that for certain types of mineral raw materials the degree of development of explored deposits is insufficient and a significant increase in mineral production based on them is problematic. In this regard, the need for further search, exploration and preparation for industrial development of deposits (new types) of mineral raw materials, as well as ensuring an increase in reserves of traditionally mined (extracted) minerals is of great significance.
On the basis of explored mineral deposits, enterprises and production facilities have been created for the extraction of peat, oil, rock salt, the production of potash and dolomite fertilizers, various building materials, fresh and mineral groundwater.
The strategic goals for the development of the geological industry until 2025 are: (a) formation of a highly effective, innovation-oriented systems for geological study of subsoil and reproduction of the mineral resource base, ensuring the solution of assigned tasks at the present stage and in the long term; (b) reproduction of the mineral resource base in the volumes necessary to meet the needs of the country's economy for mineral resources, creating the mineral resource base for the socio-economic development of the regions of the Republic of Belarus and ensuring energy and mineral resource security; (c) protection of subsoil and rational use of mineral resources to meet the current and future needs of basic sectors of the economy; (d) monitoring and forecasting the state of subsoil; regional study of the territory of Belarus in order to obtain new geological data, identify new promising areas and geological structures; and (e) integration into the global market of geological services.
Priority directions for the development of the geological sector are: (a) improvement of the system of state management of geological study of subsoil and reproduction of the mineral resource base; (b) systematic, scientifically based conduct of regional geological exploration activities in order to form a prospecting reserve, identify new promising deposits for various types of minerals; (c) increasing the investment attractiveness of geological exploration of subsoil and development of the mineral resource base; (d) improving the system of collection, processing, analysis, storage and provision of geological information for use; (e) improvement of scientific and technical support for geological exploration activities; (f) development of our own and implementation of existing modern technologies for the extraction and processing of mineral raw materials; (f) creating conditions for the introduction of innovative technologies; and (g) improving the system of training and retraining of personnel.
