Abstract
This Standard lays down general and specific requirements for wheat flour, and rules on food additives permitted to be used, the limits of contaminants, requirements of hygiene, packaging and labelling, quality assurance, methods of sampling and test, and conformity checks. It applies to wheat flour and whole wheat flour that is intended for human consumption prepared from wheat grains of the species Triticum aestivum L. (common wheat) or Triticum compactum (club wheat). The use of potassium bromate as a food additive in wheat flour is prohibited in accordance with the decisions of FAO/WHO Codex Alimentarius Commission.
