Abstract
This Code lays down general and special provisions for offences, penalties and criminal liabilities, consisting of 18 Chapters and 332 sections. This Code includes crimes and related penalties for damages to public water, public health, public and private land, property rights, food and foodstuffs, water sources, inland and marine waters, wild fauna species, and plants or crops.
Section 327 prohibits selling, preparing or offering for sale of unwholesome food or beverage. Furthermore, this Code special provisions for corruption in Section 284 and cruelty to animals in Section 326.
Entry into force notes
This Code enters into force on 1 October, 1981.

This is a revised version of 2020 which contains a consolidation of amendments made to the law by Acts No. 27 of 2013, No. 12 of 2014 and No. 22 of 2017.
