Forest (Amendment) Rules 1997 (No. 110 of 1997).

This amendment introduces a new section in Part VII ("Trees and other plants the felling or removal is prohibited"). Section 42 prohibits the felling of trees of the species breadnut. The new section (42A) allows the felling os such tree where the tree species is included in the approval yield of a sustained yield licence as defined under rule 5(1)(a). The minimum girth shall be 72 inches.
