Land Utilization (Lake Independence Special Development Area) Regulations, 2019 (S.I. 49 of 2019).

These Regulations provide for declaration of the Lake Independence Project as a Special Development Area and its management. Regulation 3 read with Schedule I demarcates the Lake Independence Project as a Special Development Area and is divided in two parts to be known as Zone A and Zone B. Regulation 4 establishes a Management Authority for its administration and management. Regulation 5 lays down the functions of the Management Authority in respect of Zone A and Zone B. The Management Authority shall have regard to factors such as environmental and social sustainability of a sub-project while preparing the contract. Regulation 8 states the types of development that are permitted in the Special Development Area and Regulation 9 provides for offences and penalty.
