Abstract
The present Regulations enact the Environment Act. The Regulations lay down provisions relating to the quality of ambient air. In particular, section 3 establishes that the criteria for ambient air quality throughout the Province are prescribed in Schedule A and are expressed as maximum permissible ground level concentrations. The text – consisting of 10 sections deals with the following aspects: burning offences, gasoline volatility limit, provincial emission cap, emission reduction plans, sulphur content of total fuel consumed in a petroleum refinery and reporting and records. Three Schedules are enclosed.
Entry into force notes
The present Regulations enter into force on 1 March 2005.
