Abstract
Section 4 and 8 establish respectively the “Alberta Beekeepers Plan” and the “Alberta Beekeepers Commission”. The purposes of the Plan is to: a) initiate and carry out projects or programmes related to research and studies with respect to the beekeeping industry and to the production and handling of honey, including research and studies; b) assist, educate and inform producers, dealers and processors in developing and improving the beekeeping industry and methods regarding the production and processing of honey and honey products; c) assist in the development and promotion of the beekeeping industry in Alberta; d) advise governments on matters concerning the beekeeping industry e) to c-operate with the government of Canada and the government of Alberta with respect to the maintenance of the quality and standards of the regulated product; f) co-operate with any organizations involved in the beekeeping industry. The text consists of 42 sections divided into 4 Parts as follows: General operation of Plan (1); Governance of Plan (2); Conduct of elections (3); Transitional provision, review and repeal (4).
