Abstract
Section 1 and 7 of the present Regulation establish respectively the “Alberta Peace Region Forage Seed Growers Plan” and the “Alberta Peace Region Forage Seed Growers Commission”. The purposes of the Plan is to: a) initiate and carry out projects or programmes related to research and studies with respect to the production and handling of forage and turf seed, including research and studies concerning the development and use of forage and turf seed; b) assist, educate and inform producers, dealers and processors in developing and improving methods regarding the production and processing of forage and turf seed; c) assist in the development and promotion of the forage and turf seed industry; d) advise governments on matters concerning the forage and turf seed industry; e) to c-operate with the government of Canada, the government of Alberta and the government of British Columbia with respect to the maintenance of the quality and standards of the regulated product; f) co-operate with the Peace Region Forage Seed Association and the British Columbia Grain Industry Development Council and other organizations involved in the forage seed industry in the designated regions. The text consists of 39 sections divided into 4 Parts as follows: General Operation of Plan (1); Governance of Plan (2); Voting and elections (3); Transitional provision, review and repeal (4).
