Abstract
The present Regulations are made under the Arctic Waters Pollution Prevention Act. In particular, the Regulations authorize Norcor Engineering and Research Limited, of Yellowknife in the Northwest Territories, to deposit oil in that portion of the arctic Ocean known as Hecla-griper Bay, north of Melville Island in the Northwest Territories for the purpose of a project of study or research to determine the behaviour of the oil in and under multi-year ice. Section 5 impose on Norcor Engineering and Research Limited to remedy any damage to property or the environment resulting from any deposit of oil within a reasonable period of time after completion of the project of study or research. The text consists of 5 sections.
