Abstract
The present Regulations enact the Environment Act. The Regulations lay down provisions relating to the management of asbestos waste. For the purpose of the present Regulations “asbestos waste” is designated as hazardous waste. In particular, section 5 establishes that no person shall store asbestos waste generated by another person except at an approved asbestos waste storage facility. The text – consisting of 24 sections deals with the following aspects: safety equipment, packaging requirements, conditions of packages and containers, requirement to repair or repackage, requirement for shipping document, equipment required on vehicles, restrictions on certain vehicles, disposal sites, designation of disposal area, designated area cover limits, inspections and abandoned or discontinued disposal area.
