Abstract
The present Regulations enact the Canadian Environmental Protection Act, 1999. In particular, the purpose of the above-mentioned Regulations is to protect the environment and the health of Canadians by reducing air emissions of hexavalent chromium compounds (HVC) from facilities using chromic acid in their chromium electroplating, chromium anodizing or reverse etching operations. The text, consisting of 15 sections, deals, inter alia, with following aspects: interpretation, application, general requirements, use of a point source, limiting the surface tension, reporting and record keeping.
