Abstract
The purpose of this Act is to provide for the incorporation, inspection, examination and supervision of associations whose primary purpose is to pro vide service to its members and which belong to the people who use the services, the control of which rests equally with all the members, and the gains from which are distributed among the members in proportion to the use they make of the services. This Act applies to all associations incorporated under this Act and to all associations to which Chapter 57 of the Revised Statutes, 1967, the Co-operative Associations Act, applied before the first day of August, 1977. The Act provides as well for incorporation procedures, clarifies powers of associations, preference shares, registered office, etc.
