Abstract
The present Code of practice enacts the Environmental Management Act. The Code lays down provisions relating to the discharge from the concrete and concrete products industry. Section 5 establishes that a person operating an establishment must ensure that waste concrete is not disposed of in a manner that causes pollution. The text consists of 11 sections as follows: Definitions and interpretation (1); Registration required (2); Dust control (3); Authorized discharge: silo emissions and air quality (4); Disposal of waste concrete (5); Authorized discharge: effluent and groundwater quality (6); Authorized discharge: effluent and surface and marine water quality (7); Monthly effluent sampling and analysis (8); System inspection records (9); System failures (10); Keeping and providing establishment records (11).
