Abstract
The present Regulation enforces the Animal Health Act, 2009 (S.O. 2009, c 31). The need may arise to order the destruction of an animal or of feed, or animal products like milk, eggs or meat in order to reduce the possible spread of a disease. In such unusual circumstances, the Minister is authorized to provide financial compensation for certain losses stemming from such orders. The text – consisting of 9 sections – deals with the following aspects: determination of amount of compensation, compensation to animal owners, compensation for costs of cleaning, compensation for owners of animal products, market value of animals, market value of animal products, reasonable costs.
