Abstract
The present Regulation is made under the Wildlife Act. In particular, the Regulation controls the possession, breeding, shipping and releasing of alien animals (i.e. that are not native to B.C.) that pose a risk to the health or safety of people or the environment. The Regulation protects the public while also ensuring that recognized institutions can continue to possess these animals. The text consists of 10 sections divided into 3 Parts as follows: Interpretation and designation (1); Species for which a permit is required (2); Aquatic invasive species individuals (3). Five Schedules are enclosed.
