Abstract
The present Act provides for the the management of emergency situations in the Province. For the sake of the present Act «emergency» means a present or imminent event in respect of which the Minister or a municipality, as the case may be, believes prompt co-ordination of action or regulation of persons or property must be undertaken to protect property or the health, safety or welfare of people in the Province. The Minister of Municipal Affairs is responsible for the correct and efficient enforcement of the present Act, this includes also the co-ordinate of emergency management plans within the Province and. In particular, the Minister has authority over all matters respecting emergency planning, preparedness, response, mitigation, recovery and emergencies in the Province. The text consists of 26 sections.
