Abstract
The present Regulations enact the Environment Act. The Regulations apply to an environmental emergency, an unauthorized release or an impending unauthorized release of a contaminant including an environmental emergency, an unauthorized release or impending unauthorized release on lands owned or claimed by Her Majesty in the Right of Canada. The text – consisting of 14 sections – deals with the following aspects: designated contaminants, duty to report the release of a contaminant, verbal reporting requirements, written reporting requirement, emergency order, powers of the Minister/administrator and recovery of cost. One Schedule concerning spill report requirements is enclosed.
