Abstract
The present Act provides for inspection and licensing of food premises. The inspection is carried out by the Environmental Health Officers. Section 3 establishes that a person shall not sell or distribute to a person any food which is unfit for human consumption. Section 5 specifies that food in a food premise and food being transported shall be prepared, manufactured, handled, cut, processed, packaged, displayed, stored, offered for sale, sold or served in a manner that prevents it from being unfit for human consumption. The text consists of 23 sections divided into 4 Parts as follows: Food safety (I); Licensing and approvals (II); Inspection and compliance (III); General (IV).
