Abstract
This Regulation enacts the practices and procedures of the Forest Practices Board and is divided into 4 parts as follows: Part 1 - Definitions; Part 2 - Audits; Part 3 - Complaints and Part 4 - Annual Reports. Part 2 enacts section 176 of the Act, which states that "in accordance with the regulations, the board must carry out periodic independent audits and may carry out special investigations". This Regulation states that the board may develop standards for the purpose of these periodic independent audits. The appointment of auditors, the steps to be taken when discovering significant breaches and the release of a final audit report are also dealt with. Section 177 of the Act states that "in accordance with the regulations, the board must deal with complaints from the public respecting prescribed matters that relate to this Act". The scope of complaints and the complaints procedures are outlines in part 3 of this Regulation. Finally, under part 4, the chair of the Forest Practices Board must submit the annual report by March 31 of each year, for the immediately preceding calendar year, as required by section 189 of the Act.
