Abstract
The Act establishes the Association of Saskatchewan Forestry Professionals outlining its purpose and objects. These are: (a) to establish and maintain high standards of professional ethics and excellence for members in the professional practice of forestry; (b) to assure the general public of the knowledge, skill, proficiency and competency of members in the professional practice of forestry; (c) to promote and improve the knowledge, skill, proficiency and competency of members in all matters relating to the professional practice of forestry; and (d) to foster the professional practice of forestry by members in a manner that is in the public interest of the people of Saskatchewan.
The Act continues providing regulation on membership and registration, meetings, council's role and powers in managing and regulating the affairs and business of the association, and making by-laws. Moreover the Act offers protection to the profession by establishing a prohibition to practice unless a registered member with the association, it sets standards for professional competence and envisages procedures for misconduct and other offences.
