Abstract
This Act concerns the land titles in Ontario, it consists of 172 sections and is divided into eleven parts. Part I contains preliminary provisions, i.e. definitions and administration of the Act. Part II covers organization and administration, provisions are grouped under three titles: application of the Act, officers and authority of officers. Part III is dedicated to the jurisdiction of the court and appealing procedures. Part IV covers application for first registration, the Part is divided under the following titles: applicants, titles, easements and mining rights, procedure for first registration and effect of first registration. Part V organizes the assurance fund and regulates claims against it. Part VI concerns part owners and Part VII subsequent registrations, including transfers, leasehold interests and death of registered owner. Part VIII contains provisions on descriptions of land and registered plans, Part IX covers fraud, Part X rectification of the register and Part XI regulation and procedure.
