Abstract
The present Regulations implement the Fisheries Act (R.S.C. 1985, c. F-14). In particular, the Regulations lay down provisions relating to management and control of fisheries in the province of Manitoba. The text consists of 55 sections divided into 6 Parts as follows: General (I); Licences (II); Possession and transportation of fish (III); Recreational fishing (IV); Commercial fishing (V); Ticketable offences (VI). Seventeen Schedules are enclosed. A number of Schedules are outlined, namely, Schedule I- on Bait fish; Schedule II- high quality management waters; Schedule III- natural brook trout waters; Schedule IV- rough fish; Schedule V stocked trout waters; Schedule VI- common and scientific names; Schedule VII- [repealed, sor/98-247, s. 19]; Schedule VIII- waters closed for other than educational and scientific purposes; Schedule IX- prohibited species; Schedule X- recreational fishing close times; Schedule XI- recreational fishing daily quotas, possession quotas and size limits; Schedule XII- waters where the use of boats propelled by means other than human or electric power is prohibited for recreational fishing; Schedule XIII- species in respect of which Spearfishing is prohibited [repealed, sor/88-190, s. 13]; Schedule XV- annual commercial fishing quotas and close times.
