Abstract
The present Regulations enforce the Navigable Waters Protection Act (R.S.C. 1985, c. N-22) which is a federal Act designed to protect the public right of navigation. In particular, the Regulations deal with the setting up of buoys and marks, equipment and debris, dams, lights sound signals. Officers are authorized to order the removal of unapproved works that render navigation so difficult that it becomes dangerous. As a last recourse officers can remove the obstruction at the public’s expense. The text consists of 14 sections and 1 Schedule.
