Abstract
This Act applies to every well in Alberta whenever drilled or constructed. The purpose of the present Act is a) to effect conservation, and prevent waste, of the oil and gas resources ; b) to secure the observance of safe and efficient practices in the locating and abandonment of wells; c) to provide for the economic development in the public interest of the oil and gas resources; d) to afford each owner the opportunity of obtaining the owner’s share of the production of oil or gas; e) to disseminate useful information regarding the oil and gas resources; f) to control pollution.
