Abstract
This Act concerns the exploration, use and management of oil and natural gas resources in Prince Edward Island, it consists of 107 sections and is divided into 13 parts. Part II is dedicated to the administration of the Act, including its application and general matters related to permits, inspections and regulation. Part III covers the right of entry for the purpose of exploring and using oil and natural gas resources. It contains provisions on the procedure for obtaining permits and for solving disputes related to this matter. Part IV is dedicated to geophysical exploration and related licences. Part V concerns the survey system and related permits.
Part VII is dedicated to leases, Part VII.1 to royalties and Part VIII to Crown reserves of oil and natural gas and their disposal in accordance with the decisions of the Lieutenant Governor in Council. Part IX is dedicated to conservation and permits for well drilling moreover, under section 85, the Minister is empower to take measures to prevent waste. Other provisions concern enforcement of the Act, transfer of licences and permits (Part XI), royalties, surveys (Part XII), access to information (Part XII) and offences and penalties.
