Abstract
The present Regulations are made under the National Energy Board Act (RSC 1985, c. N-7). In particular, the Onshore Pipeline Regulations, 1999 ensure that pipelines are designed and operated to prescriptive requirements. These requirements include design, quality of materials, construction, and operations and maintenance. The text consists of 58 sections divided into 10 Parts as follows: Design of the pipeline (1); Materials (2); Joining (3); Construction (4); Pressure testing (5): Operation and maintenance (6); Abandonment (7); Reporting (8); Audits and inspection (9); Record retention (10).
