Abstract
The present Regulations enforce the Canadian Fisheries Act (R.S.C. 1985, c. F-14). In particular, the Regulations lay down provisions relating to the management and control of aquaculture in the Pacific Ocean. Section 2 establishes that the Regulations apply in: a) the territorial sea of Canada off the coast of British Columbia; b) the internal waters of Canada off the coast of British Columbia that are not in that province; (c) the internal waters of Canada in British Columbia; and d) any facility in British Columbia from which fish may escape into Canadian fisheries waters. The text, consisting of 14 sections, deals with the following aspects: interpretation, application, aquaculture licences, incidental catch, keeping and producing licence, prohibition and coming into force.
Entry into force notes
The present Regulations enter into force on 18 December 2010.
