Abstract
The purpose of the present Regulation is to implement the Marketing of Agricultural Products Act. The Alberta Potato Marketing Plan, established under Alberta Regulation 208/88, is hereby revised and continued under the title “Potato Growers of Alberta Plan”. The plan aims at, inter alia, improving the economic well being of the potato industry. For the purposes of this Plan, Alberta is divided into 2 areas, namely, Alberta South and Alberta North. The former “Board” takes the name of “Commission” and means the Potato Growers of Alberta. The Commission is in charge of the operation, regulation, supervision and enforcement of this Plan and is empowered to make regulations requiring, amongst others, producers engaged in the production or marketing of potatoes, to register their names and addresses with the Commission; as well as to provide any information that may be required by the Commission. The text consists of 40 sections divided into 3 Parts.
Entry into force notes
In compliance with the ongoing regulatory review initiative, this Regulation must be reviewed on or before 31 March 2019.
