Abstract
These regulations apply in respect of specified GHG activities engaged in on or after January 1, 2017 and apply only in respect of the greenhouse gases listed in Schedule 1. The Regulations distinguish between Facility Emitters and Fuel Supplier Emitters and the reporting and verification amount and threshold. A GHG report submitted by a facility emitter must be for all specified GHG activities engaged in at a facility. A separate GHG report must be submitted for each facility owned or operated by a facility emitter. A separate GHG report must be submitted for each specified GHG activity engaged in by a fuel supplier emitter. If the Minister is of the opinion that a GHG report has not been prepared in accordance with the Act or these regulations, the Minister may require the emitter to submit a revised GHG report by notification in writing. Verification is made by Accredited Verification Bodies, the Regulations clarify their duties.
