Abstract
This Act, in a similar fashion to the Seed Potato Act of 1996, allows for the declaration of certain areas as "Seed Control Areas", on request by landowners through petition. Seed is defined as the seed of a vegetable or field crop (sect. 1). The Lieutenant Governor in Council may accordingly constitute such a control area, determining its exact boundary and varieties of seeds that may be grown (sect. 4). An owner or occupier of land in a seed control area is forbidden from growing or allowing to grow any seed of a variety other than that prescribed under this Act. The remaining provisions deal with offences and penalties as well as the power to make regulations. (10 sections)
