Abstract
This Regulation concerns wastewater and storm drainage systems and it applies specifically to the following types of systems: a system that serves a city, town, new town, village, summer village, hamlet, municipal development or settlement area, a system described in the definition of privately owned development; a system that is owned by a regional services commission and a private utility (sect. 2). The Regulation sets substance release requirements, prescribes design standards for wastewater and storm drainage systems and prohibits the release of substances that might negatively affect the functioning of the systems (sect. 7). The Regulation also contains provision on the use of sludge on land and on the use of wastewater for irrigation, which are subject to consent; other possible uses of treated water from wastewater or storm drainage systems are subject to authorization (sect. 9).
