Abstract
These Regulations enforce the Public Health Act. In particular, the Regulations cover all public water supply systems in the Northwest Territories and provide for their design, realization and inspection in order to prevent public health hazards. Section 7 establishes that the operation of a water supply system or any part of the water supply system must be approved by the Chief Public Health Officer before operation. Furthermore, the Regulations define the water quality, bacteriological and chemical characteristics for water sources, provide for water treatment, chlorination and fluoridation. The text consists of 24 sections.
