Abstract
The present Regulations are made under the Wildlife Act. For the purpose of the present Regulations «aboriginal harvester» means a person harvesting wildlife in accordance with section 17 of the afore-mentioned Act. Although aboriginal harvesters no longer need a hunting permit to exercise their treaty or aboriginal rights in their traditional or treaty area, but are required to carry and show identification proving their right to harvest. However, aboriginal people without traditional harvesting rights still require a licence to hunt in the Northwest Territories and must follow seasons, bag limits and other existing conditions. The text consists of 15 sections and 2 Schedules.
