Leases Restrictions Act (Act No. 22 of 1976).

The Act restricts leases, assignment of leases or subleases. Any such lease requires the approval of the Leases Approval Committee, established in the Act. In considering applications for approval, the Committee shall have regard to any criteria as well as policy directions from the Minister of Justice. Approval is not required for leases under the Short Term Crop Leases Act or any lease for a term not exceeding five years.
