Abstract
The Cook Islands National Youth Policy is a national policy with a multi-sectoral approach. The timeframe of the policy is 5 years between 2015 and 2020. The purpose of this Policy is to provide guidance for the key areas of youth development that require strengthening and support from all sectors of society. This Policy focuses on young men and women between the ages of 15 - 24 years of age living in the Cook Islands taking into account all the issues facing the Youth of the Cook Islands. The priority areas of this Policy are: (I) family relationships, (II) education and economic opportunities, (III) empowering youth through community, cultural, spiritual and personal development, (IV) health, well-being and welfare, and (V) identifying youth at risk and increase their resilience.
