Abstract
This Act makes consequential amendments in the principal Act in consistency with the provisions of the Cook Islands Investment Corporation Act 1998. It amends Section 13 regarding the directions by the Cook Islands Investment Corporation as to management strategies to be followed by the Ports Authority in the performance of the Authority's objectives, functions and powers; inserts Section 13A regarding the social responsibilities of the Authority; amends Section 20(2) regarding the functions of the Authority consistent with the Authority's statement of corporate intent; inserts new subsection (3) to Section 21 regarding the power of the Authority to pay to the Corporation a dividend; repeals Sections 62 and 63 regarding annual statements and accounts to be audited; amends Sections 64 and 65 regarding the borrowing powers of the Authority in consultation with the Board of the Corporation; amends Sections 66, 67, 68 and 69 regarding the statement of financial position, corporate intent, annual report and fiscal updates of the Authority; and amends Section 70 by omitting the word "Minister" wherever it appears and substituting the words "Board of the Corporation".
